Description

The work of this project consists of the repair of the interior plaster walls and ceiling, removal of thick spray coating from rosettes and molding trim and painting of interior walls and ceiling of Memorial building. Contractor for this project needs to have expertise on his/her team for the removal of the biological growth on the plaster walls and ceiling and removal of the tinck spray coating on the plaster rosettes. Painting consists of the surface preparation, priming, and finish coat of the interior walls, ceiling, trim moldings, and rosettes. Plaster walls are approximately 2,820 sq. ft. and plaster ceiling is approximately 1,160 sq. ft. Preliminary lead paint test for the existing interior paint has shown no evidence of lead contamination. However, due to the age of the structure, there are likelyto be numerous paint layers on the areas identified for repairs. LOCATION: The Memorial Building is located at the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Site, Hodgeville, LaRue County,Kentucky. The magnitude of the project is between $50,000 and $100,000.
