SOURCES SOUGHT (FOR INFORMATION GATHERING ONLY): The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), Health Services Division, is seeking information from Health Care Facilities (providers) that are capable of providing inpatient and select outpatient care for renal transplants, liver transplants, heart transplants, heart and lung transplants and bone marrow transplants for inmates sentenced to BOP facilities. The BOP system currently houses approximately 160 inmates that are considered to be potential organ transplant candidates. Services will include screenings, for donors and recipients. The service provider shall be located within 100 miles of one (or more) of each of the seven BOP Medical Referral Centers (MRC). The MRCs are located in Ayer, Massachusetts; Butner, North Carolina, Lexington, Kentucky; Ft. Worth, Texas; Carswell, Texas; Springfield, Missouri; and Rochester Minnesota. The provider will be required to demonstrate that its transplant program is ?Medicare certified? (recognized by the Health Care Finance Administration as a medicare provider). The BOP has developed Evaluation Guidelines For Transplants that are available upon request. The accepted payment methodology will be medicare reimbursement utilizing a benchmarking system. Providers will be responsible for all licensure issues. Vendors are invited to submit information that describes, including but not limited to, the following: 1) a company portfolio; 2) accreditation and certification information; 3) pricing information on each procedure (for BOP planning purposes only -- not considered a quote) to assist the BOP in estimating this procurement; 4) pricing information on total estimated tests, including processing, reporting and transporting (for BOP planning purposes only -- not considered a quote) to assist the BOP in estimating this procurement; and 5) references from prior similar contracts of similar magnitude.
