Description

Cab conversion, vehicle inspection, and repairs to refurbish 1988 Pierce Arrow Pumper for the Manchester Fuel Depot, Fleet & Industrial Supply Center, Puget Sound, WA. All repairs/modifications must meet NFPA 1901 requirements and must maintain the original structural integrity of the cab to ensure critical safety considerations are met. Refurbishment includes, but is not limited to, 4-door enclosed crew cab conversion, auxiliary heater in crew cab, padded vinyl engine blanket cover, manual air vents in crew cab roof, sliding windows in sides of crew cab, replace front cab seats and rear crew cab jump seats, replace headliners, inspect chassis, cab and body electrical systems and components, inspect apparatus body for cracks, corrosion, latches, door holders, inspect apparatus cab and mounts, inspect front axle, suspension and steering, inspect chassis air system for defects and leaks, road test to check chassis performance, brakes, etc., two new wheel chocks and holders, paint cab to match existing color, and letter rear doors. Contractor to inspect and submit a report identifying recommended repairs prior to beginning refurbishment and cab conversion. NO REPAIRS ARE AUTHORIZED WITHOUT SPECIFIC APPROVAL BY THE CONTRACTING OFFICER. Prospective offerors not CCR-registered should immediately begin the registration process. The solicitation will be posted to the NECO web site: www.neco.navy.mil under "Business Opportunities" and solicitation number "N00406-01-R-5240". The Government will NOT distribute hard-copy solicitations or amendments. The Government will not mail, fax, or e-mail the solicitation or any amendments thereto. Subsequent amendments, if any, will be transmitted solely via the NECO web site. Prospective offerors are responsible for checking the NECO web site early and periodically for any solicitation amendments. Prospective offerors should not expect notification that an amendment has been issued. The NECO web site is occasionally inaccessible due to maintenance.
