Description

The National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) through the ADP Acquisitions Branch, Program Support Center, intends to award a twenty-seven (27) month sole source simplified acquisition to the University of Maryland -- Baltimore. The purpose of this simplified acquisition is to develop methods for coding occupation in ways relevant to public health and epidemiology and to apply those methods in studies using NCHS data sets. Closing date is August 15, 2001. This proposed requirement for which the Government intends to solicit only one source is under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). Interested concerns may identify their interest and submit a capability statement that demonstrates their ability to provide the services required. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation is available; therefore, requests for such document will be considered invalid responses. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no affirmative responses are received within 10 days from the date of this synopsis, the Contracting Officer will proceed with the award to the University of Maryland -- Baltimore. Responses must be received in writing and refer to 01C103126 to the attention of Susan Moran.
