- Description
- The Federal Highway Administration is conducting a Lithium Implementation Field Trial Program to promote a greater level of acceptance of lithium products for use as a mitigation method of Alkalai-Silica Reactivity (ASR)in concrete. Under this program, the FHWA is cooperating with several State DOTs to identify field sites where lithium products will be used in either new concrete mixes, or on existing hardened concrete. One method to determine the lithium product's effectiveness of the various ASR mitigation techniques is to measure the strain in the concrete over time. The FHWA has determined that to provide uniformity to these concrete strain measurements, one contractor is needed to conduct the work at all of the sites. The contractor shall provide all equipment, personnel and services for the FHWA located at the Turner-Fairbank Research Center in McLean, Virginia, to coordinate with a minumum of 4 and a maximum of 10 projects with State DOT's who are participating in the FHWA's trial program. The contractor services will be required in 8 states located throughout the continental U.S.A. for a time not to exceed 60 months. Solication package can be requested by FAX at 303-969-5971, with company name, address, solication number, telephone number and Fax number of contractor included. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which shall be considered.
