Description

The Louisiana Department of Natural Resources (the Department) gives public notice that it is requesting proposals from interested, qualified persons or firms (including public agencies and institutions) for assistance in compiling, analyzing and summarizing data that will provide guidance in the development of a nutria control program; providing data for the public and decision-makers to better understand the importance of funding nutria control program; producing a comprehensive document concerning the socioeconomic and cultural impacts of nutria, their over-population and vegetative damage to wetlands; eliminating nutria related damage to wetlands and establish/enhance markets resulting in increased price, harvest and control of nutria. Copies of the Request for Proposals (RFP) No. 2512-02-08 are available at the Department of Natural Resources, 6th floor, Room 615, State Land and Natural Resources Building, 625 North Fourth Street, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. They also may be obtained by 1) writing to Louisiana Department of Natural Resources, Post Office Box 94396, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70804-9396, ATTN: Julia Raiford, 2) calling Ms. Raiford at (225) 342-4566, 3) E-Mail request to Juliar @ dnr.state.la.us, or 4) fax at (504) 342-8700. Please note that all requests must include a contact name, company name, mailing address, and telephone number. RFP's will be mailed immediately upon request via the U.S. Postal Service. Proposals may be sent to the Department of Natural Resources, Post Office Box 94396, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70804-9396, ATTN: Ms. Karen Y. Lewis, or delivered to the Department at the 6th floor, Room 615, State Land and Natural Resources Building, 625 North Fourth Street, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70802. Proposals must be received not later than 3:00 p.m. on September 5, 2001 (closing date) after which time and date they will not be accepted. Proposals will be evaluated according to criteria defined in the RFP, and all proposers will be notified by U. S. mail of any contract awarded after such evaluation.
