Description

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Coastal Systems Station, Panama City,Florida, intends to award a Purchase Order on a competitive basis for a Pyro Cable Assembly in accordance with Drawing that will be made available upon request. The Pyro Cable Assembly on the Mine Neutralization Vehicle contains an electroexplosive device (EED) and is used for activating the Emergency Recovery Group (ERG)components. The molded cable consists of a connector on one end and the EED on the other. The cable assembly incorporates a radio frequency interference (RFI) filter to exclude electromagnetic radiation which might set up high frequency currents. The cable assembly is not sensitive to the levels of shock, vibration, electromagnetic or radioactive radiation, or Electro Static Discharge (ESD) encountered during normal or combat conditions. The following is a sample of production lot tests that must be conducted, verified and approved for acceptance: Hydrostatic Pressure, Frequency Response,Bridgewire Resistance, Shield Continuity, All Fire/No Fire Current, DC Insulation Resistance,Temperature and Vibration. The cable can be procured from BIW (Boston Insulated Wire) in Taunton, MA. and The pressure switches (explosive) can be procured from Hi-Shear Technology Corp., 24225 Garnier St., Torrance, CA 90505
