Description

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services formerly Health Care Financing Administration intends to award a "Grants Writing Seminar for Hispanics Health Professionals in the Mid-Atlantic Region on a sole source basis to Masschusetts General Hospital, Institute for Health Policy and Multiculture Affairs Office, 50 Staniford Street, Suite 942, Boston, Masschusetts 02114. The project will increase the capacity of Hispanic health professionals conducting health care services research. The objectives are to 1)select and train 30 Hispanic health professionals on how to write health services research grants; 2)expose Hispanic health professionals (medical students, residents, fellows, junior faculty) to the federal, state, and foundatation grantmaking process; 3)increase the success rate of participants who apply for health serivces grant award; 4)increase the number of health services research grants on Hispanic health services topics; 5)expand the pool of Hispanic health professionals who participate in research, and encourage networking, partnerships, and collaboration; 6)examine successful grants that have been written to learn more about the mechanics of writing a fundable grant proposal; and 7)provide Hispanic health professionals with the tools and skills needed to prepare and submit competitive research grants. Hispnaic researchers rom the Mid Atlantic Region will attend the workshop. All responsible sources may sumit capability statements for consideration to the Agency at the above address. If no responses are received within 15 calendar days form the published date of tis notice, a purchase order shall be awarded to Massachusetts General Hospital. See numbered Note 22
