Description

Questions concerning the following should be directed to Michelle Gray at (301)443-7077. The (OPHS) Office of Minority Health (OMH) through the ADP Acquisitions Branch, Program Support Center (PSC), intends to award a sole source simplified acquisition to the National Human Genome Center at Howard University. The period of performance is anticipated to be approximately six (6) months. The purpose of this simplified acquisition is to develop and implement a plan for convening a 2-day national workshop titled ?Genomic Research on the African Diaspora (GRAD)? that will be held on the campus of Howard University in Washington DC and bring together experts on the African Diaspora from Africa and other parts of the world to participate in refining the research plan for the GRAD resource. Closing date is August 13, 2001. This proposed requirement for which the Government intends to solicit only one source is under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). Interested concerns may identify their interest and submit a capability statement that demonstrates their ability to provide the services required. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation is available; therefore, requests for such document will be considered invalid responses. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no affirmative responses are received within 10 days from the date of this synopsis, the Contracting Officer will proceed with the award to the National Human Genome Center at Howard University.
