Description

The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) requires contract services to provide an on-site review to 107 accredited laboratories throughout the United States. The contractor shall provide personnel and services necessary to review approximately 50 Accredited Laboratory Program (ALP) food chemistry laboratories annually. The contractor shall travel to the accredited laboratory and conduct an on site review using FSIS review materials. The contractor shall conduct the review using at a minimum FSIS review checklists (Amendment #3), 9 CFR Parts 318.21 and 381.153 and appropriate methodology in food chemistry. FSIS intends to award a firm-fixed price contract using commercial item procedures under FAR Part 12. The period of performance for this contract will be from date of award through September 30, 2001, with 3 one-year option periods. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. The NAIC code is 541990. The small business standard for NAIC code is $5.0. Copies of the solicitation will be made available on the USDA, FSIS, website at the following address: www.fsis.usda.gov/om/proc/solicitations.htm. When copies are obtained from the website, it will be the responsibility of the interested party to notify the Contracting Office in order to obtain amendments if and when they are issued. Hard copies of the solicitation package will be made available upon written request. Request for the solicitation documents shall be in writing and may be faxed to Janet Elm at 301-504-4276. No telephone requests shall be honored. All qualified responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the Agency. The offer must confirm to the solicitation instructions and be received by the closing date and time specified in the solicitation. The anticipated release date is on or about August 7, 2001, with an anticipated offer due date of on or about August 21, 2001. The firm date and time will be stated in the solicitation.
