- Description
- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, and Subpart 5.203 (b) & (c) as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The announcement constitutes the only solicitation. This is a Request for Quotation (RFQ); a written solicitation will not be issued. The Food and Drug is soliciting for a Clontech Laboratories, Inc or equal, systems description as follows: 1. Human CS2006-2 ATLAS Ready-to-Print Long Oligos for human. =20 2. Rat CS2008-2 ATLAS Ready-to-Print Long Oligos for rat. The specifications for the Oligos include: (1) 80bp long Oligos. (2) 8,327 named human genes and approximately 4000 named rat genes represented. (3) Each Oligo has less than 70% homology to any other entry in the gene bank. (4) Each Oligo permits discrimination in multigene family and alternative splice forms of genes. (5) Each Oligo is quality tested via two enzymatic tests, the tests insure: That the signal intensity will be greater than 10 fold less than the strongest signal; The Oligo sequence integrity is maintained. (6) The Oligos are not amino modified. (7) The Oligos come with a two-day training seminar. The minimum requirements for a gene collection: (1) Must represent approximately 4000 rat genes and 8000 human genes. (2) Must be composed of oligonucleotides that are 80 bases long. (3) Must represent known and named genes. (4) Must be in a form that is ready to print without further manipulations of the gene segments. (5) Must be available in a 96-well format to allow automated printing of the microarray. (6) Each gene must be represented by an oligonucleotide that has less than 70% homology to any other gene in the GenBank database. (7) Each oligonucleotide in the collection must be shown to produce a strong and specific hybridization signal. (8) Must be enough DNA to prepare approximately 2500 microarrays. Firm fixed price requirement. FOB Point: Destination within 30 days after award of a purchase order. Interested offers shall submit descriptive literature along with their cost quotation. Offerors who are offering other than the Clontech Laboratories, Inc systems, shall submit descriptive literature in sufficient detail as to demonstrate that the systems offered meets or exceeds Clontech Laboratories, Inc systems specifications. Award will be made to the vendor who submits the lowest price system that meets all technical specifications. The Government may make its decision on the basis of initial quotations received and not have discussions. Therefore each initial quotation should contain the offer's best terms from both a price and technical standpoint. This Request for Quotation number R-3028-00-1.
