Description

The General Services Administration, Federal Technology Service, Region 8, Denver, and its Client, U.S. Air Force Material Command, Peterson AFB , Colorado Springs, Colorado 80914-2902, intend to procure on a Sole Source basis from: Microdyne Communications Technologies, Inc., 491 Oak Road, Ocala, Florida 34472, 352-687-4633, the following items: Qty (2) 1400- MRA Receiver System to include the following: 2 Receiver Base Chassis, Microprocessor Controlled W/IEEE-4SS 2 Multiband RF Turner, 2 PM Demodulator, 2 IF Filter, 2 Rack, Slide. PURPOSE: Item listed is a part replacement to run the communication satellites unit based at Peterson AFB, CO. IMPACT: The 1400 Receiver System item is needed to run communication unit, without the receiver cannot transfer satellite information. JUSTIFICATION FOR OTHER THAN FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION: Microdyne is the manufacture the receiver and the only supplier. An RFQ was posted via the ITSS web-base for GSA, Open Market, NIH and SEWP II Schedule holder to submit quote no response. Microdyne is willing to reseller to other vendors but with an additional charge of $5,000.00 to the client. Concerns having the ability to furnish the above services/supplies are requested to give written notification (including the telephone number for a point of contact) to the acquiring office listed in this notice within 15-calendar days from the date of this synopsis. This notification should clearly show their ability to do so without compromising the quality, accuracy and reliability of the requirement. This is not a formal solicitation. However, concerns that respond should furnish detailed data concerning their capabilities and may request a copy of the solicitation when it becomes available. All information is to be furnished at no cost or obligation to the government.
