Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, Point Mugu, CA 93042-5001 plans to procure on a competitive basis fabrication, testing and delivery of I-Band Magnetron Modulators. The I-Band Magnetron Modulator is a single, completely operational unit containing all components necessary for pulsing an SFD-349 magnetron to produce microwave energy. The Modulator shall be designed for continuous operation at sea in an unmanned environment. All magnetron tubes required for testing will be furnished by the Government. The Modulators shall be built in accordance with the Government specification provided with the solicitation. It is planned to award a Firm Fixed Price, Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type contract with Delivery Order 0001 being issued concurrent with award. Delivery 0001 will meet the contract's minimum order requirements, which will be one (1) Magnetron Modulator. Thirty-eight (38) additional Magnetron Modulators will be ordered over a three-year period. Delivery schedule for Magnetron Modulators ordered will be 120 days from date of order. Delivery will be FOB destination, Port Hueneme, CA. Final acceptance will be made at source. The RFP is expected to be posted in late August 2001. The anticipated due date for proposals is late September 2001; however, the actual proposal due date will be stated in the RFP when issued.
