Description

The Denver Service Center of the National Park Service is responsible for construction contracts for the National Park Service. An electronic commerce (EC) demonstration is scheduled for Thursday, August 9, 2001 at 9:00 A.M. in the Acadia National Park Headquarters building training room, Eagle Lake Road, Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, Maine. This demonstration is being conducted by the National Business Center (NBC) and is open to all prospective contractors desiring to conduct business with the National Park Service for construction projects. In order to demonstrate how this site works, the NBC will be using the Acadia National Park Seawall Campground WWTP Modifications package (N4500010911), which is currently available for proposal. The demonstration will help familiarize area firms with the National Park Service' approach to electronic commerce (EC). Using IDEAS (Interior Department Electronic Acquisition System), the Denver Service Center will post procurement information, including notices, solicitations, specifications, drawings, and amendments, to the National Business Center, Department of Interior's website (http://ideasec.nbc.gov). Prospective contractors will be able to go directly to this site or through hyperlinks with http://www.FedBizops.gov or cbdnet.access.gpo.gov and view or download the documents needed to prepare their proposal. The result is wider opportunities for competition and bottom-line savings in cost and time for all participants when compared to traditional solicitation methods.
