- Description
- SPAWAR Systems Center Charleston announces the "2001 IC Symposium", tentatively planned for 27-29 Nov 2001 in the Norfolk VA area. Location and agenda will be published later. The annual symposium is an excellent opportunity for government and industry to learn together about user needs, and the available/planned products that could be used on Navy ships for Interior Communciations, which is rapidly evolving into combinations of voice, data, and video using smaller, more reliable, and more versatile commercially-available equipment. The symposium is an opportunity to describe their current and planned initiatives, share "lessons learned", and describe their understanding of users' interior communications needs. Please pencil the tentative dates on your calendars, pass this notice to anyone in government, industry, or academia you think may be interested, and send confirming email to both POCs (see below) with your name, organization, code, phone nubmer, and email address if you want to be included for future email notices. If you are interested in presenting a topic, please send email to both POCs (see below) with your name, organization, code, phone number, email address, general description of your intended topic, and any audio-visual equipment you may need. If you are interested in demonstrating equipment or exhibiting materials, please send email to both POCs (see below) with your name, organization, code, phone number, email address, general description of your display topic, and an estimate of how much space you will need. We have not yet decided if there will be demonstrations or exhibitions. Replies are encouraged by 15 August 2001 to allow us to match up attendees, presenters, and exhibitors with facility size, etc. We have not yet determined entry fees, exhibitor fees, etc. The symposium will be hosted by SPAWAR Systems Center Charleston Code 514, Portsmouth VA.
