Description

Notice of Intent Title: DTFH61-01-R-00096. Purpose: This is a notice of intent by the FHWA to make a sole source award to Iteris, Incorporated. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. Iteris, Incorporated has created a software-based computer-aided specification-writing tool, called the SpecWizard for National Transportation Communications for ITS Protocol (NTCIP), to assist agencies in preparing specifications covering NTCIP implementation. The SpecWizard will help the FHWA support standards deployment, and provide a valuable tool to NTCIP users and equipment purchasers at all levels of government. The SpecWizard processing features produce language for users which specifies options within the NTCIP standard, and produces a specification document that can be included with acquisition documents and also provides a unique training experience for the agency engineer. Iteris proposes to provide this software to the FHWA to distribute and provide enhancements, training, and maintenance. Interested firms should identity their capability to respond to the work requirements listed above. Expression of interest without sufficient detail to permit evaluation of capabilities will not be considered. Oral expressions of interest will not be considered. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations nor is a Request-for-Quotations/ Solicitation document currently available. Based upon responses to this notice, a determination by the Government not to compete this action is within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive acquisition. In the absence of responses from interested firms demonstrating their capability, FHWA intends to proceed with the finalization of award to Iteris, Incorporated. Responses must be received by the listed procuring office within 15 calendar days from date of publication of this notice.
