Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format described in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is being issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ), F19650-01-Q-0032. The NAICS Code for this synopsis/solicitation is 54151. This solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-26, dated 16 May 01. The AFRL Collaborative Research Environment (CoRE) is expected to provide data storage and processing services for multiple satellite data programs. To meet mission requirements, a new server needs to be purchased and the existing computing capacity needs to upgraded and expanded to accommodate the increase data flow. CLIN 0001 1 EA, Sun Enterprise 420R server consisting of 4 processors (450 MHz), 4 Gb RAM, dual power supplies, and Solaris 8 operating System. The chassis, motherboard and processors must be Sun equipment or compatible, since CoRE maintains a stock of spares, and buying a third-party chassis would require a second stock of parts. The RAM can be either Sun original or Data Ram brand, as long as all of the memory is the same brand. CLIN 0002, 6 EA, Sun, or compatible 450MHz processors for Enterprise 420R server to ensure optimum system performance. CLIN 0003, 6 EA, Memory kits for Sun Enterprise 420R or compatible, 512 Mb per kit. Must be DataRam brand or compatible in order to match existing memory. CLIN 0004, 8 EA, Memory kits for Sun Enterprise 420R, 512 Mb per kit. Must be Sun brand memory or compatible in order to match existing system memory. Firms that can satisfy this requirement should submit published specification sheets or product catalogue(s) that clearly identify the firm's products, which meet the Government's requirements. The firm must also submit a product price list(s) and literature relevant to the acquisition. FAR 52.222-36 and Far 52.222-37, FAR 52.204-6, Contractor Identification Number-Date Universal Numbering System (DUNS) Number, FAR 52.223-33, Payment by Electronic Funds-Transfer-Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and DFARS 252.204-7004, required Contractor Registration (MAR 87); DFARS 252.212-7001, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders applicable to Defense Acquisition of Commercial Items (in paragraph (b) the following clause is applicable: DFARS 252-225-7001, Buy American Act and Balance of Payment Program. When requested, the Ombudsman shall maintain strict confidentiality as to the source of the concern.
