Description

The USDA, ARS, Plum Island Animal Disease Center, Plum Island, New York has a requirement for the "Turn-Key" decommissioning, removal, transfer and disposal of Atomic Energy of Canada, Model Gammacell 220 High Dose Research Irradiator. Work to be performed will be at Plum Island, NY located approximately 2 miles off the northeastern tip of Long Island, NY and can only be reached by government ferry from their Orient Point, NY facility. Work includes but is not limited to, preparation of unit, rigging and removal from Building 226 and transferred to nearby Building W loading dock for overpack in shipping container, load on to vehicle and transferred to an off-island disposal facility.
