- Description
- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format described in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is being issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ), F19650-01-Q0029. This document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through FAC 97-27, dated JUN 25, 2001. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 339111 and the size standard is 500 employees. The procurement is to consist of the following: CLIN 0001, 1 each, Laser System, with extra mounted window, transverse mode 10.6 micron wavelength source per the following components: TEA CO2 Laser operation in the TEM00 mode includes Edinburgh Instruments Ltd. MTL-3 Mini TEA C02 Laser with TEM00 option fitted with 80mJ of 10.6 microns at 10HZ; Mounted Brewster window option; Reduced external trigger delay no-cost option (-2 to 3 nanosec). SYSTEM SPECIFICATIONS: TEA CO2 Laser: wavelength 10.6 microns; polarization -- unpolarized; transverse mode -- single mode TEM00 operation; energy -- 80mJ/pulse at 10.6 micron wavelength; beam size -- 6 mm; beam divergence -- less than 1.5 mrad; pulse width -- less than 60 nanosec; gas flow -- pre-mixed cylinder of 30% CO2: 30% N2: 40% of high purity gases flowing at less than 5 lilters/min; Brewster option -- mounted Brewster window enables user configured linearly polarize and hybrid-TEA operation at lower powers; tunable upgrade -- availability of future tunable laser upgrade for operation over CO2 laser wavelengths from 9.2 to 10.8 microns; head/power supply -- separate laser head and power supply connected by a power cable at least 3 meters long; power supply -- at least 1000J/sec at 25 kV, thyratron trigger with internal and external control, and display for voltage and internal trigger frequency; repetition rate -- variable internal trigger up to 10 Hz using flowing gas mixture; external triggering -- input BNC for TTL, CMOS commands at 15 V or less; external trigger jitter -- less than 35 nanosec; external trigger delay -- less than 4 microsec; and one year warranty -- covers defective materials and workmanship of purchased equipment including costs for engineer, materials, components and return shipping to purchaser. Delivery to Hanscom AFB, MA is required with 120 calendar days after contract award. FOB Point: Destination.
