Description

SPAWAR SYSTEMS CENTER, SAN DIEGO intends to negotiate a sole-source contract modification with Science Application International Corporation, San Diego, CA under their existing contract N66001-96-D-0014. This action will provide a Level of Effort Increase and extend the period of performance through 18 June 2002 to allow sufficient time to release a competitive follow-on solicitation. The estimated increase in the level of effort is 56,997 hours. This action is a sole source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This is not a request for proposal and no solicitation is available. Questions concerning this sole source modification may be directed to Esther E. Christianson at echristi@spawar.navy.mil. Use of any other source for this modification would result in duplication of cost and time to develop the technical capability within another contractor's workforce resulting in substantial duplication of cost that is not expected to be recovered through competition. It is contemplated that the solicitation for the follow-on to contract to N66001-96-D-0014 will be available on or about mid September 2001.
