Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake, CA intends to procure on an other than full and open competition basis, and in accordance with FAR Parts 12 and 13, and the authority of the test program for commercial items under FAR Subpart 13.5, the following: Rotating mirror synchronous streak camera which exposes a 60 x 310mm record on 70mm film with high linearity. The rotating mirror must achieve speeds of 5,000 rps that is equivalent to a recording rate of 20mm per microsecond. Interchangeable objective lenses using standard bayonet mounting are required. Dual focusing system which allows user to use full field viewer and microscope focusing. The camera must have an electronic camera control that can be operated in manual or automatic modes with adjustable built-in time delay between 0.1 and 9,999.9 microseconds. A lockout counter is required to freeze the value of the mirror speed at the time of exposure for accurate measure of the recording rate. The system shall consist of: (1) Model 132 rotating mirror synchronous streak camera including model 1525 focusing microscope, full field viewer, adjustable slit. (2) Model 470 camera control (3) Model 476/480 gas control (4) Model 1209 Turbine: 5,000 RPS beryllium mirror (5) Model 1505 Optical rail -- 12 ft (6) Model 2770 spare cassette (7) slit assembly 3A 1054 (8) 240mm f/9 objective lens for 70mm film camera (9) 360mm f/9 objective lens for 70mm film camera (10) 600mm f/9 objective lens for 70mm film camera (11) Model 1513 image rotator (12) Model 363 film cutter. Vendor will be responsible for proper installation and on-site training. This requirement is sole sourced to The Cordin Company. Cordin Company is the only company capable of providing the required rotating mirror synchronous streak film based camera. Any firms believing that they can provide the required items may submit a written response to be received at the Contracting Office no later than 5 days after the date of publication of this notice, clearly showing it's ability to do so without compromising the quality, accuracy and reliability of the data or without causing programmatic hardship to the program.
