NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE ? The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) laboratory facility in Morgantown, WV has the desire to purchase one each of a TSI model 8130 Automated Filter Tester with Oil/Salt Aerosol test capabilities. This filter tester is unique in that it has the capability to test filter penetration in the submicron particle size range with both solid and liquid aerosols in agreement with 40 CFR 84 regulations applicable to filter media used in respirators. Further it can be used for testing media used in ventilation and environmental tractor cab enclosures. The solid aerosol is sodium chloride and the liquid aerosol is DOP. Purchase of this TSI instrument will also be compatible with other NIOSH filter testers presently being used and would allow for interchangeability of components when needed. The Government intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis with TSI, Inc., St. Paul, MN. Organizations who believe they can provide an equal product to the TSI model cited may respond within 10 days after publication of this notice. Responses shall be submitted to: Brenda L. Goodwin (MS-1019), Reference: #2001-Q-04091, DHHS, PHS, CDC, NIOSH, ALOSH, 1095 Willowdale Road, Morgantown, WV 26505. Simplified acquisition procedures will be utilized for this acquisition.
