Description
66- It is the Government's intent to negotiate on a sole source basis with Beckman Coulter, Inc., 4300 N. Harbor Blvd., Fullerton, CA 92835 for the following item: DNA Sequencing System with the following minimum requirements: (1) Must use capillary electrophoresis for separation of DNA fragments, (2) Must use a single gel matrix for the sequencing of all DNA fragments, (3) Must have the following fully automated functions: (a) Capillary array is purged of old gel and filled with fresh gel, (b) Simultaneous denaturation of 8 samples before loading, (c) Detection system is aligned with the capillary centers, (d) Samples are injected by voltage via user-defined parameters, (e) A user-definable separation method is started, (f) Florescence data is acquired in real time, (g) Automated base-calling, (4) Must accommodate 96-well format, (5) Must use infrared dyes, (6) Must use diode laser excitation, (7) Must read 8 samples in parallel, and (8) Must be able to read 500-700 bases at 98% accuracy in less than 100 minutes. An RFQ package will not be available. See numbered Note 22.
