Description

The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences intends to award a sole source purchase order to Tomtec, Inc., Hamden, CT, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1) -- Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is for one (1) each of the following items: 1) 384-320 Quadra 384 Model 320 Pipetting System w/6 station automatic table; 2) 196-720-00 Quadra 96 Command; 3) 196-345 Quadra96 Model 345 Small Volume Pipetting System; and 4) 196-720-00 Quadra 96 Command. The Quadra 384-320 is a robotic liquid handling system capable of pipetting 384 samples simultaneously in the defined array format. The unit uses teflon coated needles and can be removed/replaced individually. The system uses an ultrasonic tip washing system. Unit has a small footprint (12"Wx29"Hx22"D). The Quadra 96 Model 345 is a 6-station 96-well pipette workstation for volumes as low as 0.5 ul. This system allows the conversion of four 96-well plates into one 384-well plate and has an ultrasonic tip washing station which cleans the tips to prevent carryover between plates. All responsible sources may respond by submitting a written narrative statement of capability within 5 days of closing date of notice to Dee Lunney at the above address for consideration by the agency. Response must include detailed technical information and other technical literature demonstrating the ability to meet these requirements. Responses shall also include itemized pricing that is sufficient to make a determination that competition is feasible. If no affirmative responses are received within 5 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Tomtec, Inc. The NAICS Code/Size is 334516/500EM. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
