Description

This a a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is 1011265152-00183 and is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) on a full and open competitive basis. This solicitation is unrestricted. This solicitation incorporates provisions and clauses that are in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-27. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 3823. This product shall be delivered within 60 days after award. Shipping shall be "F.O.B. Destination" with inside delivery to the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Beltsville, Maryland 20705. This procurement is for the following item or equivalent: ("SMART CYCLER", Portable, Rapid, Fluorescent-Tag-Polymerase Chain Reaction FT-RCP Measurement System; Part number: SC1000N2-1, Manufactured by: Cepheid in Sunnyvale, California. The following shall be the minimum requirements for the item listed above: The Smart Cycler System shall be able to distinguish multiple wavelengths (450-800 nM) of emmisions from fluorescent compounds such as that of al least 4 colors may be optically detected and separately measured; The system shall be self-contained and capable of being transported to field assays conditions; The system shall be able to provide real-time display of detection of fluorescence during the PCR reaction; The PCR reactions for each detection cycle shall be completed within 45 minutes of initiation of the cycling; The Smart Cycler System shall have separately programmable chambers for detection and shall have at least 16 such independently controlled detectors; In the Case of Failure: the separately programmable chambers shall be replaceable without affecting the performance of the other chambers; and The Smart Cycler System shall accommodate both small(25 microliter) and larger(100 microliter) sample volumes. All offerers shall include completed copies of Far Clause: 52.212-3 Representations and Certifications)and Far Clause: 52.222-70 (Compliance with Veterans Employment Requirements).
