Description

GSA is announcing its intent to issue a procurement under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The contract will be a fixed price effort to provide information technology training at a Government facility in support of AMC/CSS located at Scott Air Force Base, IL 62225. The training shall include the fundamentals of DNS and BIND, advanced BIND configuration and DNSSEC and BIND Security. Requirement is to provide instructor, materials and ancillary items to complete training for 10-15 students to attend each of the following classes: (1) Basic fundamentals of DNS and BIND course shall include: understanding DNS and BIND, setting up zone files, resolving queries, setting up hosts, creating multiple name servers, setting up resolvers, configuring name servers, using zone file shortcuts, delegating zones, troubleshooting, understanding firewalls, understanding dynamic DNS, setting up BIND 4 configuration files. (2) Advanced BIND Configuration course shall include: dynamic update, NOTIFY and incremental zone transfer, advanced BIND 8 configuration, DNS and Firewalls, Windows 2000/DNS interaction, DNS tricks. (3) DNSSEC and BIND Security course shall include: understanding security today, using DNSSEC, using TSIG, securing an internet name server, running a new version of your name server, restricting zone transfers, restricting dynamic updates, protecting against spoofing, using split-service name servers, handling DNS and firewalls, resolving internet domain names, creating DNS/firewall architectures, using forwarding with firewalls, configuring bastion hosts, protecting zone data. And (4) All labor, equipment, materials and travel, beyond the Government furnished facility and power supplies, necessary to complete the training. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is a Request for Quotation, reference Number 5TC5701C235. NAICS Code 514199, All Other Information Services, applies. Size standard is $5.0 million. This requirement is to provide formal information technology training at a Government facility. On-site Period of performance/instruction is estimated to be one week. Actual schedule to be coordinated with the client to accommodate personnel availability during September 2001. FAR 52.252-2 applies to this acquisition.
