- Description
- The Portland, District, Corps of Engineers will award a supply contract, for steel sheetpile to repair the North Breakwater at the East Boat Basin, Astoria, Oregon. This contract shall use metric units of measure. The repair work will include surrounding a portion of the existing breakwater structure with the subject sheetpile to rehabilitate that portion, which will be done in a follow-on construction contract. The Astoria East Boat Basin (East Boat Basin) is near the eastern edge of the City of Astoria, Oregon, in Clatsop County. Clatsop County is situated in the extreme northwest corner of the state. The Astoria East Boat Basin is located along the southern shore of the Columbia River between River Mile 15 and 16. The East Boat Basin lies between 33rd and 39th Streets of Astoria. The subject sheetpile required is for approximately 597 linear meters (1957 linear feet) of wall, approximately 17.6 meters (58 feet) high. The steel sheetpile shall conform to the requirements of ASTM A690, grade 50. The physical properties for the sheetpiles shall be similar to that of a "PZ 40," with a minimum section modulus of 3548 cm3 /m (65.99 in3/ft). Contractors will have approximately 120 days to deliver the product once the contract has been awarded. Solicitation No. DACW57-01-R-0016 will be issued on or about August 7, 2001. The tentative closing date is August 21, 2001. This procurement is open to both large and small business concerns. The small business size standard is a concern, including all affiliates, with not more than 500 employees.
