Description

The Coastal Systems Station, Dahlgren Division, NSWC, Panama City, Florida intends to procure on a sole source basis two (2) LN-250 Inertial Navigation System (INS) units (Part # 831230-1-55) from Litton Systems, Inc., Guidance and Control Systems Division, 5500 Canoga Avenue, MS77, Woodland Hills, CA 91367-6698. They will be incorporated into the Battlespace Preparation Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (BPAUV). The BPAUV was developed for the Navy under the sponsorship of the Office of Naval Research (ONR) as an autonomous MCM technology demonstration platform. The vehicles are to be equipped with an advanced navigation system, known as the "Cornerstone Navigator" which was designed with the LN-250 as a central component subsystem, and the software and hardware system interfaces for this component have already been developed. Replacing the "Cornerstone Navigator" INS subsystem with a different INS will involve substantial re-design and re-validation of the system software developed by the Navy. Delivery will be to the Coastal Systems Station, 6703 West Highway 98, Panama City, Florida, 32407-7001 within 6 months of award of the contract. NAICS is 334511. Note 22 applies.
