Description
The Combatant Craft Program Management Office of U.S. Special Operations Command is seeking sources of off-the-shelf or nearly off-the-shelf remote operated, remote controlled and directed, and remote fired small arms gun mounts. These mounts may be installed on the MK V Special Operations Craft, the Naval Special Warfare Rigid-Hull Inflatable Boat and potentially the Special Operations Craft, Riverine. Remote sources of control, direction and firing commands may include manual operator input or on/off weapon sensors (e.g. Radar, FLIR, Optical Sighting Systems, GPS, video auto trackers, laser rangefinders, etc). Interest is in both stabilized and non-stabilized mounts. The same office is also interested in other hardware capable of supporting weapons or mounts such as universal feed systems and/or chutes, ammunition containers, remote charging mechanisms and the like. Weapons of interest include the M2HB .50 caliber machine gun (single and/or dual mount), the MK19 40mm grenade launcher, the M60 7.62 machine gun, and the GAU17 7.62mm Gatling gun. Future considerations may include the GAU19 .50 caliber Gatling gun. The gun mount should also have allowances for manned, crew-served, operations in the event of remote malfunctions. Indicate gun mount capabilities as addressed above. Interested companies should also submit rough order of magnitude pricing for the gun mount and other hardware in quantities of 1, 10 and 50 as well as the availability of this hardware. Interested companies should also submit non-recurring engineering costs to bring their products in line with the desired objectives listed above. Demonstration videotapes in VHS format will be accepted as well as current marketing brochures. Also include the willingness of the company to participate in an actual firing demonstration for the hardware being submitted. This announcement is a request for information only and is not a request for proposal (RFP) or announcement of solicitation. The Government shall not be obligated to procure any item as a result of this solicitation. The Government makes no guarantees that there will be a follow-on solicitation or procurement. The Government will not use results of this solicitation to develop a bidders list. Failure to participate in this solicitation will not preclude offerors from participating in any follow-on efforts should there be follow-on efforts. The Government will not pay for any effort expended or any material provided in response to this synopsis nor will the Government return any data provided. Responses are requested within 21 days after publication of this notice.
