Description

The Forest Service intends to issue an Invitation for Bids for the above project. This project is the decommissioning of 3.25 miles or road and the hydroclosure of 3.75 miles of road. Decommissioning includes removing all culverts and other hardware, outsloping, ripping, seeding and mulching, and other work. Hydroclosure consists of erosion control measures such as the removal of some culverts, the construction of rocked and riprap fords, and the rocking of rolling dips. Pit development and haul for 350 CY pitrun aggregate and 180 CY riprap is also included. The project is located approximately 5 miles from Forest Glen near the Pickett Peak Lookout. From Hayfork, CA take Hwy 3 south for approx. 15 miles to the intersection of Hwy 36. Turn west on Hwy 36 and travel approx. 11 miles to Forest Glen. After crossing the bridge of the South Fork of the Trinity River, turn left on Forest Road 1S26. Continue approx 5 miles to the intersection of 1S26A, which is the beginning of the project. No pre-bid tour is scheduled. Contract time is 60 days with an estimated start work date in early September.
