Description

The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS), intends to negotiate solely with Nowland & Associates in Newark, Delaware to reroof a metal headhouse building at the USDA, ARS, Beneficial Insects Introduction Research Lab in Newark, Delaware. The Contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, tools, and materials necessary to roof over an existing Star Manufacturing Co. metal Headhouse Building at the USDA BIIRL facility. The new roof must be manufactured by Star Manufacturing Company, no substitutes shall be permitted. The building size is approximately 20 ft. wide by 82 ft. long by 15 ft. high with a roof slope of .25 in./12 in. The retrofit roofing system shall be "Z" galvanized plate attached to existing roof purlins, 26 gauge roof panels with a galvalume finish with 3 inches of insulation between existing and new roof. The Contractor shall provide a 20 years roof warranty for material and workmanship. This project must be completed within 60 days of receipt of the notice to proceed. The building roof over shall include, but is not limited to new matching metal gable end trim, facia, gutters and down spouts, flashing for roof vents, boiler stack, vent pipe and any other existing roof penetration, stainless steel fasteners and insulation. The estimated cost of construction is between $10,000 and $25,000. The NAICS is 235610 with a small business size of $11.5 million. Companies with the demonstrated capability and financial capacity to provide and service such a roof system must submit a written substantive statement outlining the Company's and systems' capabilities and warranty information (including price lists) to the Contracting Officer within 15 days of publication of this notice. This is not a request for quotation. No solicitation is available.
