Description

This is a notice of solicitation set-aside for SBA Section 8(a) contractors in the Chicago SBA Region. To provide all labor, supervision, tools, equipment, and materials necessary to construct a KC-135 Flight Training Unit Facility addition to Flight Simulator Training Facility per the plans and specifications. Work consists of, but is not limited to, relocate communication and electrical lines, demolition and removal of abandoned storm drain, concrete curb and gutter and miscellaneous items, (except for site demolition by others); modification to the existing Flight Simulator Training Facility for structural tie-in of new building, site grading to bring areas between buildings and parking lots or roads to finish grade including adjustments to grade, replacing uncontrolled fill with structural fill, topsoil placement and finish grading, construction of utility connections, construction of building service areas, paving (excluding sidewalks and exterior break areas). Optional Bid Items: 1- provide unglazed porcelain stoneware floor tile (UPST) flooring in lieu of VCT. 2- Provide seeding, landscape plantings and concrete sidewalks. 3 Provide operable partitions, overhead projection screens and lockers. SIC 1541, NAICS 233320. The performance completion date is 1 June 2002. The cost for this project is estimated between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Solicitation will be issued 25 July 2001. Plans and Specifications are in limited quantity and will be provided to 8(a) prime contractors only. Site visit will be 7 Aug 2001. Award date is anticipated to be 17 September 2001. This acquisition is set-aside for competition under SBA Section 8(a) program. Telephone responses will not be accepted.
