- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Austin Automation Center (AAC), Austin, Texas, intends to negotiate a sole source commercial contract with PowerWare Global Services under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All interest parties shall respond to the attention of the contracting officer within 15-days of publication of this notice. This project encompasses the 3000 Card Cage Logic and Gate Firing Module component upgrades for three Exide Series 3000 UPS modules located at 1615 Woodward Street, Austin, Texas, 78772. In addition to this work one complete set of fully compatible spare logic boards will be provided to be stored on-site and available for use to service any of the Austin Automation Center's (AAC) UPS series 3000 modules. As part of this upgrade, load testing will be conducted on each battery bank using the appropriate portable load banks, and associated cabling to ascertain true condition and capacity of each. All work times will be coordinated with the AAC computer room operations manager. All proposed schedules require final approval by the AAC's computer room operations manager. All reports will be turned over to the VA-AAC staff within 30 days of completion of the work. Because of the critical function these systems, only factory trained and authorized personnel will be allowed to perform the work. Only OEM factory approved Exide parts and materials will be accepted. Proof of current Exide approved training and certification will be required as part of the qualification/s to perform this work.
