Description

The National Park Service is seeking a contractor to provide all equipment, materials, labor, transportation and all other services necessary to perform Wildland Urban Interface hazardous fuels reduction in the Tupelo, MS, area on the Natchez Trace Parkway. The purpose of this project is to reduce the fire fuel load in the wooded areas of the Parkway where the park boundary meets urban areas, thereby providing adequate defensible space to lessen the risk of loss due to wildfire. Contractors will be required to remove dead and downed woody material and either haul away to an approved disposal site or chip smaller debris. No standing trees will be cut and stump removal is not a part of this project. There are three locations included in this project, all of which are within 20 miles of Tupelo. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures as a Request for Quotations, with an estimated magnitude of the project between $50,000 and $100,000. This is a small business set-aside and the applicable NAICS code is 113310, Logging, size standard is 500 employees. Solicitation package will be available o/a August 9, 2001.
