Description
The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with GE Medical Systems, 7272 Park Circle Drive, Hanover, Maryland 21076 for the purchase of an X-Ray (MR) Magnetic Resonance Patient Table. The Laboratory of Cardiac Energetic is committed to a program of developing interventional (MRI) Magnetic Resonance Imaging methods. Part of the research program involves the use of a portable X-Ray system within the MRI suite, with a smooth and safe method of moving a patient between the MRI scanner and the fluoroscopy system. In order to fulfill this need a specialized MRI/fluoroscopy patient table will need to be constructed. The following are requirements for the table: 1. A movable fluoroscopy table allowing normal operation of a fluoroscopy procedure. 2. A patient cradle that is x-ray transparent, and MR compatible, which glides along the top of both the fluoroscopy table. 3. The patient cradle must roll along the existing GE Signa patient table in the normal operation of the MRI scanner. 4. The patient cradle must be smoothly exchanged between the Signa patient table, and the fluoroscopy table. General Electric, will be required to modify the existing patient table in order to dock it with the fluoroscopy table, and the design of the new patient cradle must function with the existing GE transport system used in the MR table. Delivery Schedule: The Government required delivery schedule is six weeks or less upon issuance of purchase order. This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures, and is exempt from FAR Part 6. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 334517, Size Standard is 500 employees are applicable to this requirement. The small business Set Aside has been lifted for this requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this requirement. Interested vendors should submit two (2) copies of the proposal to the below address, which shall include the itemized price, prompt payment terms, the F.O.B. Point (Destination or Origin), Taxpayer Identification Number (TNN), Dun & Bradstreet Number (DUNs), Business Size, and descriptive literature of the product. All proposals are due in this office by August 3, 2001 8:30 a.m. local time. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct future competitive procurement.
