Description

THIS SOLICITATION IS A COMPETITIVE SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE PROCUREMENT. AREA "F" AMMO CONTAINER COMPLEX, RED RIVER ARMY DEPOT, TEXARKANA, TEXAS. Project consists of constructing a container complex at area "F". The work shall include heavy-duty pavement for handling containers up to 50,000 pounds, trucks, and material handling equipment. Also included is installing lightning protection, lighting for 24 hour operations and 110 volt receptacles. Civil work includes drainage, altering/improving existing asphalt roads near the new pad, and construction of an additional road next to the pad. The road surface through the sally port to the pad shall be altered. The sally port shall be enlarged and the area paved. Pedestrian gates and motorized truck gates shall be installed at the sally port. Supporting facilities include utilities, electric service, paving, walks, curbs and gutters, storm drainage, information systems, and site improvements. Air conditioning (1.5 tons) will be provided for office areas. Anti-terrorism/force protection measures include lighting and access control. The Base bid plus one or more options is estimated between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Solicitation will issue on or about 2 August 2001. Sealed Bids are due on or about 5 September 2001. Duration of the construction project will be approximately 180 days. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code applicable to this project is 234110, Highway and Street Construction, which corresponds to SIC Code 1611. The Small Business Size Standard is $27.5 Million. The plans and specifications have been placed on a Compact Disk (CD-ROM) and will be provided free of charge on the issue date. Plans and specifications will not be provided in a paper hard copy format. Notification of amendments shall be made through 3.5" diskette, CD Rom and/or the Internet. However, the Government reserves the right to use only the Internet as notification of any changes to this solicitation. It is therefore the contractor's responsibility to check the following address daily for any posted changes to this solicitation.
