Description

The U. S. Postal Service is soliciting proposals to replace the roof at the Burlington Processing & Distribution Facility at 8 New England Drive in Essex Junction, VT. The work consists of, but is not limited to, removal & proper disposal of the existing membrane roofing system, and furnishing and installing a fully-adhered PVC membrane insulated roofing system including all sheet metal and other roofing-related accessories, and furnishing and installing new steel members for the reinforcing of the existing roof framing system, & related work. The estimated cost of the work is between $300,000.00 and $400,000.00, with completion within one hundred twenty (120) calendar days after receipt of notice to proceed. Sealed offers will be received in this office prior to, but no later than, 4:00 p.m. on August 15, 2001. Offers will not be publicly opened. The number of offers received, the identity of the offerors, the amount of any offer, or relative standing of the offerors WILL NOT BE DISCLOSED TO ANYONE until award of contract is made. Information regarding availability of plans and specifications (at a cost to be determined) may be obtained from LDI Reproprinting Centers, 1901 Montreal Rd., Suite 116, Tucker, GA, 30884-5223. Plans may be ordered online at usps@ldireproprinting.com or you may call 1 (770) 939-5277. Plans are only available through LDI. Please be sure to specify the exact name of the project and the solicitation number when ordering plans from LDI. Plans are NOT available from the Windsor Facilities Service Office. Questions concerning the technical aspects of the proposal should be directed to David Della Rocco, USPS Project Manager, at (518) 452-4077 or Bruce Ness of DuBois & King, Inc. at (802) 773-7016. There will be a preproposal conference for this project on Thursday, August 2, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. in the maintenance manager's office at Burlington P&DF. Prospective offerors are encouraged to attend. Offerors wishing to visit the site at a time other than the preproposal conference may contact David Crockett, Maintenance Manager, at (802) 872-2203. Proposals will be evaluated on 1) price; 2) company environmental health and safety plan; and 3) roofing applicator/installer qualifications, which must be submitted with the proposal. A project-specific safety plan must be submitted by the successful offeror before award. Guidelines for other project requirements are outlined in the specifications. The successful offeror will be required to submit a 100% performance bond and 100% payment bond before award of contract is made. This is not a formal invitation for bid; therefore, no bid bond or proposal guarantee is required.
