Description

The Albuquerque Area Indian Health Service (IHS) Office will be soliciting for proposals from interested hospital facilities for Inpatient/Outpatient/Emergency Room Hospital Services. The contract hospital facility shall provide medically necessary hospital inpatient room and board, ancillary services, i.e. laboratory, radiolgy, as well as outpatient and emergency room services. Services will be provided to Contract Health Service (CHS)eligible IHS beneficiaries on a referral basis for general medical and surgery hospital services. The hospital facility must be; certified by the Joint Commission on Accreditation or Health Organizations (JCAHO)or other equivalent accreditation, state licensed and registered to operate as a hospital facility, and maintain liability insurance. Reimbursement of services will be at the allowable Medicare rates in keeping with the established policy of the Indian Health Service as published in the Federal Register, dated June 1987. The policy states that IHS will contract with health care providers who will accept payment in full at the allowable Medicare rates. Please refer to Request for Proposal (RFP)No. 01-06/VZ. The solicitation will be open continuous until December 31, 2001, close of business, 4:30 MST. Proposals received beginning September 2001 will be awarded upon satisfactory review of the proposal. Responsiblity factors as well as the contractor's pricing proposal will be used to evaluate all proposals received. Multiple indefinite requirements type contract awards will be made from this one solicitation. Contract awards will be for a base year period, with four, one-year options for renewal.
