Description

This is a solicitation notice for commercial items prepared in accordance with the subparts in Federal Acquisition Regulation 12.6. Solicitation number 673-115-01 is assigned and is issued as a Request for Quotation. Solicitation will be issued on or about July 26, 2001. The James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, 13000 Bruce B. Downs Blvd., Tampa, FL 33612, is seeking a contractor to provide pharmaceutical and clinical services associated with Intravenous (IV) Infusion Therapy and Catheter Insertion/Maintenance for the Orlando Nursing Home Care Unit (ONHCU), located at the Orlando VA Healthcare Center, 5201 Raymond Street, Orlando, FL 32803. The contractor shall provide IV Drugs and solutions for Per Diem drug therapies, as well as chart review, nursing visits by a Registered Nurse to provide in-services and educational training for VA nursing staff, pharmacy services, 24-hour availability of pharmacy and nursing staff, delivery of solutions within 2 hours of notification, all supplies, solutions and equipment necessary for the VA administration of the therapy. The contractor shall also provide nursing services for special catheter insertion (P.I.C.C.), and VA nursing education for maintenance of central venous catheter lines. Contractor administration of IV solutions is not required, except in special circumstances. In addition, insertion of peripheral catheter or line maintenance is not required by the contractor, except in special circumstances. The period of performance is September 1, 2001 through August 31, 2002, with two (2) one-year renewal options. The North American Industry Classification System Code is 621498 and the Small Business Size Standard is $7.5 million. All requests for solicitation shall be in writing or via fax at 813-903-4838.
