- Description
- Sources are being sought for commercially available Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) products in a follow-on procurement to the current RFID contract DAAB07-97-D-V007. Four classes of RFID products are contemplated. Class A products are Active RFID technology, family of read/write tags with memory size up to 128 Kbytes, omnidirectional read and write distance of 300 feet, operating at a frequency available worldwide, RF emissions at a level so that HERO certification can be attained and compliant with the NCITS 256-1999 standard. Class B products are Passive RFID Technology, family of read/write tags with memory size up to 1 Kbyte, omnidirectional read distance of 3 feet, write distance of 2 feet, operating at a frequency available worldwide, RF emissions at a level so that HERO certification can be attained and compliant with the NCITS 256-1999 standard. Class C products are Beacon ("tag talk first") RFID technology, memory sufficient to discriminate among 1000 tags, omnidirectional read distance of 300 feet, operating at a frequency available worldwide, and RF emissions at a level so that HERO certification can be attained. Class D products are Real Time Locating System (RTLS) RFID Technology which locates items within the range of the cell controller antennas to provide continuous, real-time monitoring of assets, read distances up to 125 feet without requiring direct line of sight, tag location accuracy within 10 feet, and operating at a frequency available worldwide. Fixed, Transportable (solar powered) and Handheld interrogators are required for Class A, B and C class of products. Potential sources are requested to address any specification issue, provide product information and identify Internet Web sites containing relevant information to CECOM Acquisition Center -- Washington, ATTN: AMSEL-AC-WA-C, Karen Baker, 2461 Eisenhower Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22331-0700.
