Description
United Defense L.P., as the prime contractor, is in the process of developing the US Army's next generation of field artillery and re-supply heavy tracked vehicles, Crusader. The Crusader system consists of the self-propelled howitzer (SPH), the re-supply vehicle (RSV), and the re-supply module (RSM), each incorporating several Mass Memory Units (MMU). The MMU shall provide the Crusader vehicle system with a minimum of 32 Gigabytes of nonvolatile data storage capacity. The MMU shall provide read/write data access via a Dual Redundant Fibre Channel/Small Computer System Interface (FC0-FC3/SCSI-II) data bus. The MMU shall also provide an interface to a PCMCIA "flash memory card". The flash memory card may be a commercial off the shelf part, and shall not be provided as part of the MMU. The MMU PCMCIA socket shall interface with a single PCMCIA Type III memory card, or a combination of a Type I and a Type II card. Furthermore, the MMU must comply with the following key environmental requirements: -The MMU shall be capable of performing as specified, both during and after exposure to ambient air temperatures between -46C and +62C, and storage ambient air temperatures between -51C and +71C -The MMU shall be capable of performing as specified both during and after exposure to random vibration as specified by Method 514.5 of MIL-STD-810F Category 24 (Minimum Integrity Test) -The MMU shall be capable of performing as specified both during and after a 20 g 11 msec sine pulse applied in each of the three orthogonal axes, IAW MIL-STD-810F, Method 516.5, Figure 516.5-10 Interested parties that wish to be placed on the bidder's list should submit information, brochures, or literature relative to Mass Memory Unit designs and capabilities to: Lynn Arholm by mail: 4800 East River Road, Minneapolis, MN 55421 by fax: 763-572-3332 by email: lynn_arholm@udlp.com All request must be recived with30 days in order to be placed on the bidder's list.
