Description
Sources Sought/Request for Information. Bechtel Nevada is currently seeking sources to provide a working radiographic pulsed power device based on a conceptual design supplied by Bechtel Nevada. The radiographic source will consist of a pulser unit that is cable coupled to an inductive-voltage adder (IVA) powering a rod pinch diode. The pulser, including cables up to 100ft in length, and the IVA should be capable of delivering a peak voltage of 1.5 MV tunable down to 1.2 MV into a diode impedance of 40-50 ohms. The voltage pulse width should be 25ns FWHM with a timing precision of 25ns or better and less than plus or minus 40kv pre-pulse. Bechtel Nevada will supply the diode design. The work will include a complete detailing of the conceptual design, production of a detailed design package, and fabrication and testing of the prototype radiographic unit. Work is currently estimated to start during the first quarter of Fiscal Year 2002 and be completed by September 30, 2002. The vendor must have a demonstrated design, fabrication, and successful deployment of high power inductive voltage adder accelerators. Interested parties should submit a brief synopsis of qualifications, including references, a list of past projects similar in scope, and any other applicable information to Darryl Droemer via fax 702.295.3385 by July 27, 2001.
