Description

New Work Dredging, Back River and Messick Point, Poquoson Virginia. The project Base Bid consists of new work dredging of the Back River, Messick Point Channel and Turning Basin by hydraulic pipeline method. The Channel and Turning Basin shall be dredged to a required depth of 7 feet MLLW (NOS) with 1 foot of allowable overdepth. The contractor shall place the dredged material in the Government-furnished confined upland dredged material placement area. The contract will contain an Optional Bid Item for the preparation, maintenance, and final grading of the confined upland dredged material placement area. The Optional Bid Item work shall include preparing the placement area, raising the dikes to the elevations and grades specified, providing a new spillbox, and disposal of abandoned spillboxes. Including estimated accretion to September 2001 and allowable overdepth, the project involves dredging approximately 27,400 cubic yards of material. Magnitude of construction is $500,000 to $1,000,000. Duration of the project is 45 calendar days for performance. This is a SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE PROCUREMENT. Applicable SIC code is 1629, with a size standard of $27.5 million. The NAICS code is 23499. The solicitation will be available on the internet only. No paper copies or CDs will be issued.
