Description

Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, and supervision to renovate laboratories in building 200 at the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center, Beltsville, Maryland 20705. Work consist of, but is not limited to: Minor asbestos removal; Demolition of existing laboratories casework including electrical, gas, air, vacuum and water, piping, etc., to include creating access to the existing systems; Installation of a new laboratory case work and associated architectural modifications required to accommodate the new equipment; Moving various items from the basement of buildings 200 and 262 to the effected rooms on the second floor of building 200; Provide gas, air, vacuum, and water to the new casework; Minor HVAC system modifications; Provide new power to various items that are relocated, provide additional electrical power to the effected rooms and junction boxes with emt for telephone and computer systems. The Contractor shall establish and maintain an effective quality control system. The quality control system shall consist of plan, procedures, and organization necessary to produce an end product which complies with the contract requirements. The Contracting Officer may issue the Contractor an authorization to use Government supply sources in the performance of this contract to obtain laboratory furniture off GSA Schedule. All work is to be completed within 120 calendar days following receipt of Notice to Proceed. The applicable NAICS Code is 23332 with a small business standard of $27.5M. This requirement is solicited on an unrestricted basis pursuant to the Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program. The magnitude of the project is between $25,000.00 to $100,000.00. The solicitation will be issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) in accordance with Simplified Acquisition Procedures, FAR Part 13, and incorporating provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-27. A reasonable number of copies of the solicitation package are available, on a first-come-first-served basis, and will be available on or about August 07, 2001. Written request only, specifying the RFQ number (17-3K47-01) submitted to the address above or faxed to 301/504-5009. Only one site visit is to be scheduled. Written quotations by facsimile are acceptable on or before August 28, 2001 at 4:30 p.m. (EST). Award will be made to the responsive/responsible offeror at a fair and reasonable price. A firm fixed price purchase order to be awarded approximately September 07, 2001.
