Description

This is a solicitation notice for a proposed construction contract for the slab to slab renovation of the first and second floors of Building 85 and the demolition-to-shell of the third floor at the American Lake Division of the VA Puget Sound Health Care System. The VA is seeking a general contractor to provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and supervision for the proposed contract. Work will include, but is not limited to, the following: demolition, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, telecommunication wiring, fire sprinkler, interior walls, seismic improvements, various interior finishes, and replacement of exterior windows. In addition, a small structure to house certain HVAC components will constructed. There will be a pre-bid site inspection o/a August 21, 2001 at 1 PM in Building 17 Room 110 at the American Lake Division, Tacoma, WA. The construction cost range is $5 million to $10 million. Contract completion time will be 450 calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed.. The VA anticipates awarding a firm, fixed price contract. This will not be a small business set aside solicitation. The NAICS classification is 233320. Construction document bid packages will be available o/a August 7, 2001.
