- Description
- The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) has a full and open requirement for Engineering Logistic Support Services, International Affairs, Training and Technical Assistance for Foreign Military Sales (FMS). The proposed acquisition will allow the USCG to obtain the means to offer the full range of marine engineering, logistics, and FMS program support services to complement organic USCG capabilities. Support of this program requires the successful contractor to be familiar with supporting the ship systems aboard the 82 foot POINT class Coastal Patrol Boat (WPB), the 180 foot BALSAM class Buoy Tender (WLB), the 44 foot Motor Life Boat (MLB) and other cutters and boats which are no longer in service, or are planned for removal from the USCG active inventory during the performance of this contract. Additionally, foreign maritime services equipped with other type cutters and boats that are now, or were previously, part of the USCG inventory and for which FMS support is no longer available, may be allowed to participate to the extent approved by the USCG and negotiated by an FMS case. The USCG anticipates awarding an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity type contract for a base year period and four (4) one year option periods. The NAICS code is 488390 and the size standard is $5 million. The USCG intends on issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) in mid August 2001. To receive a solicitation, interested businesses may download the RFP at http://www.eps.gov/ . It is anticipated that the RFP will be available at that web address upon issuance in August with proposals due approximately forty (40) days after issuance of the RFP. The primary Point of Contact for this solicitation may be reached at email address jwoolard@comdt.uscg.mil. The alternate may be reached at ldearing@comdt.uscg.mil. For Minority, Women-Owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (SADBU) has a program to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged enterprises to acquire short term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts.
