Description

The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DITCO) intends to issue a sole-source eight month extension to contract DCA200-96-D-0048. The contract is with COMSAT Mobile Communications, 6560 Rock Springs Drive, Bethesda, MD 30817. This contract is for International Maritime Satellite (INMARSAT) service that provides High Speed Data (HSD) A, B and HSD B, C and M terminals with COMSAT STU-III digital services. All services are provided on a global basis 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, ship-to-ship, ship-to-shore, STD-C service is also provided shore-to-ship. Services are currently being provided through an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract. This extension allows time for a small business set-aside to be awarded, as stated in the 17 Apr 2001 CBD announcement. The RFP will be posted on or about 21 May 2001 on the World Wide Web at http://www.ditco.disa.mil under "Contracting Opportunities" and "Other Telecommunication and Computer Technology" of the DITCO Homepage. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within twenty seven days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. Number Note 22 applies.
