- Description
- The Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG), International Broadcasting Bureau (IBB) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with The Communications Connection, Inc., Rt. 1 Box 208, Hope Mills, NC 28348 pursuant to 41 U.S.C. 253 (c)(1) -- Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Communications Connection (TCC) has in-depth knowledge of the BBG/IBB distribution system and has provided engineering support including the development of a prototype storage facility. The negotiation will be for procurement of design, engineering, installation, maintenance and repair, refurbishment, modification, new deployment and management expertise in support of the expansion and enhancement of the existing global telecommunications distribution system. TCC has been involved in the development of this system having gained in depth knowledge which has been utilized to make continued evolution of the global BBG/IBB telecommunications distribution system. This knowledge and expertise is needed to integrate new systems into the existing network. TCC will provide telecommunication support activities such as equipment storage and inventory/property accountability and computer programs in support theory, telecommunications support infrastructure and miscellaneous equipment. It is anticipated that a firm-fixed-price indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract will be utilized. The contract will have a Base period of one year from date of award with four consecutive one-year renewal options.
