Description

This procurement is being conducted under the procedures in FAR Part 13 and applicable sections of FAR Part 14. The VA Medical Center, Salem, Virginia will issue IFB 658-49-01, Radiation Safety Officer/Health Physics Services o/a July 20, 2001. Services include administration and monitoring of the Medical Center Radiation Safety Program to ensure that Radiation Safety activities are being performed in accordance with approved procedures and regulatory requirements. Contractor shall provide investigatory services as required; weekly, monthly, and quarterly wipe tests; provide technical direction to the Chief, Imaging Service and other staff in the development of Safety Manual changes; changes in NRC requirements; and perform all reporting requirements. Contractor shall also perform all duties associated with the radiation film badge system. All health physicists performing work under this contract shall be board certified in radiological physics, board certified in Health Physics (by the American Board of Health Physics), and board certified in Nuclear Medicine. Contract shall be for one year, with two one-year renewal options. Solicitations will be available o/a July 20, 2001.
