Description

Provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision required to replace/upgrade facility electrical distribution services at the VA Western New York Healthcare System, Buffalo NY. Work includes, but is not limited to: installation of new 23kV transformers and switchgear, complete retrofit and upgrade of existing 5kV switchgear, new power factor capacitor banks, grounding and lightning protection systems, all electrical power and communication distribution to existing and new equipment, creation of new electrical switchgear yard, replacement of existing underground fuel storage tank with above-ground fuel storage tank and all associated piping, systems, and testing, demolition and restoration of existing site utilities, roadways, and misc. surfaces, site, fencing, and signage. All work shall be accomplished in accordance with the plans and specifications. There is a 365 calendar day performance period. This requirement is NOT set-aside for small business. NAICS Code 235310 -- ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTORS (Business Size: $11.5 Million) applies. The solicitation will be issued on or about 08/01/01. The bid opening is scheduled for 12PM 09/05/01 in the Contracting Officer's office located in Building 3, 2nd floor, at the VAWNYHS, Buffalo. The prebid conference is scheduled for 10AM on 08/08/01 in Room C56 (Basement). There is a 90-calendar day bid acceptance period required. Award is subject to the availability of funds. A bid package may be ordered from the Contracting Officer by written request and a $150.00 bid deposit (check ONLY -- cash is not acceptable). Written request must contain street (NOT P.O. Box) address, telephone & fax numbers, and point-of-contact. Estimated Construction Cost Range: Between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000.
